I came up with an allergy to paracetamol last year; as a result, I've been told to use codiene and ibuprofen very sparingly, to avoid developing allergies to them as well. Also, they mask (not fix) the problem, and especially since it's been a while since the last time this happened, I stand a fair chance of doing myself a damage if I forget to be careful :/
