May you live in interesting times!
Sep. 1st, 2003 10:05 pmToday was an .... interesting day.
Good news! I have a job!
It's only a short-term contract, scaled at 120 hours or thereabouts, but the rate isn't too bad, and I get a bonus if I do a good job :) Easy stuff - MySQL, Php, that sort of thing.
And I got an assignment back today, and got a 6 for it. Not as well as I was hoping for, but not bad either.
My thesis is getting nowhere pretty fast, but I have high hopes for wednesday and thursday.
Chiropractor treatment seems to be going well..it'd be really nice not to have headaches anymore. It's a bit expensive, though. Thank God for private medical insurance.
The elsie.getFit() program is running, albeit slowly. I'm trying to do at least 20mins of walking a day, supplemented by an extra 20mins every two days, and visiting the gym twice a week.
Also got news that my special exam has been sucessfully deferred.
Got home (had to catch bus tonight), and came down with a major migraine. Bad. Very, very bad. It seems to have calmed down to a mangable level now, due to painkillers, neck massage, wheatpak, food, and drink. *sigh* Won't be sorry if I see the last of these.
Oh, steve's new toy (an ebook reader) arrived today, so it's all set up and running. I might 'borrow' it soon ;)
Anyway, my philosphy homework needs to be done, then I'll go to bed for some much needed beauty sleep. After all, now that I've got a job, I should look appropriately ornamental all the time :)
