on the upward swing again

Life is going better than usual. Sunday was steve's birthday, so we went to dreamworld. He hadn't been there since he was 5, and the last time I was there, I spent time on rides holding measuring devices, and then there was a 40 page assignment, so I didn't get the most out of it.
Yay adrenaline on rides :D :D :D
I think the next time we go, we might arrange with our employers to work a saturday or something, and go midweek, though. Queues suck. Going in winter rocked - it was chilly, but not too cold, and I didn't get sunburnt. Photos of tigers (aww so cute) on steve's flickr account.
I'm in a good, slightly hyper mood. Odd for this time of day, but then, I just got fed.
Work is going better! finally, all the software is installed, and I've backed up the VM image a few times, so that hopefully I shouldn't go back to square one yet again. Resume is recieving a bit more polishing, and then will be sent off to various places.
I have some hope that everything will work out.
... and I just realised why I'm hyper. I woke up with a cold this morning, and so I took drugs to make me not feel sick. It seems they've worked well. Yay!
Ekka starts tomorrow! Yay! I get to restock my cellar again. For all those naysayers of this event: meh to you. I like my fine foods and fine wines, and this is one of the few times in the year where it's all brought to me, instead of having to travel all over the state (and interstate) to get to taste before I buy. And this year I will be looking at cars, for we are going to be buying a new one 1-5 years from now.
Speaking of cars, test-drove a merc on saturday. It was .. .boring. I think I want something that feels a bit lighter at the wheel, and is a bit more interesting. And is ipod compatible.
Going to testdrive an rx8 soon. Need to relearn how to drive manual first, though.
