ysabet_the_redIt's been ... some time since my last update.
Since then, what has happened?
I had parties on three nights in my last week at my gov'mt job - one with my contracting agency, a google thing, and my last-day thing. That was awesome. I got over my sick that week, too.
The following week I had off. That was lovely - I did a fair amount of sleeping in, got caught up on stuff I'd been meaning to do for aaaaages, and such. It wasn't awesome in that delta was supposed to be on, but got cancelled :( Oh well, we'll try again for January. Kristen's B'day party was that saturday, and it was a fun night.
I'm 3 weeks into a new job, which is almost fulltime telecommute. The joys of working for a startup :) On the bright side, it means I can put my workweek just about anywhere it will fit - on the downside, it means my workweek has been bleeding over into time I'd really rather spend on other things. In an effort to avoid the isolation problems I had last year, I'm hanging out at afk a lot. It seems to be working, or at least helping with easing the transition from working in an openplan office as a part of a team to working by myself, more often than not with no other people in reach. I've had a sinus headache for 2 weeks now. Methinks it is time to visit the doctor again, because it's getting annoying.
I thought about submitting a paper to OSDC and LCA, but decided not to, because while I think I'll probably have something to write about come those two conferences, there isn't much talk-generating material in my life just now.
I could muse a bit more. But I think I'll get back to work.
