Considering fitness, and how I don't have any.

I wonder if I could walk into my gym and say ..

By May, I want to be able to do the following:
- splits (forward and side)
- walk 10m on my hands
- do a handstand from a seated start

... whether that would be achievable. Hm.

Thanks for the link :)

I recall when I was a lot younger having significantly more upper-body strength than I do now. For eg - I could do chinups, handstands, and cartwheels for a fair distance no worries.

I've done the pushups thing - thing is, pushups are not my actual goal, and training to do pushups in the past has resulted in me being able to do pushups, not what I'd like to do (which, in this case, is handstands and variations thereof). I'd rather push my goal-time out than change what I'm aiming for at this point, if that makes sense?

When did you have the upper body strength? Pre-puberty? Thing is, when our (women's) hips come in, our shoulders and elbows have to adjust so our arms aren't trying to hang inside our hips. And our centre of gravity moves down - useful for staying upright, not so handy for being upside down. You might be lucky, but I know I'm not :-).

And yeah, better to move the goal time if there's a specific goal you have in mind, but I wasn't sure if it was the time or the goal that was important to you.
