Considering fitness, and how I don't have any.

I wonder if I could walk into my gym and say ..

By May, I want to be able to do the following:
- splits (forward and side)
- walk 10m on my hands
- do a handstand from a seated start

... whether that would be achievable. Hm.

I think it would be achievable, I've never been able to achieve the splits all the way down but i guess that just depends on how flexible people are... and the others would depend on upper body strength i guess, but i think you could do it after 3 months if its consistent....

Yeah, those goals seem to have more to do with flexibility than fitness. I would be aiming for more cardio- related goals, but meh.

If you've never had much upper-body strength, I'd allow longer to build up to handstands and walking on your hands. If you'd like a specific by-May goal, maybe look at how many pushups (full-length and from your knees) you can do now and pick a goal based on that.

I've also never been to a gym that was much good at actually helping people improve flexibility. Most of what I know I've learnt from my own experience, and reading Kit Laughlin's books

It does seem a bit over ambitious :P But if you're driven and willing to pay a personal trainer then they will definitely be able to help with your goals.
